Garden
My progress in turning an unworked patch of the garden it into an organic mini-farm. Encounters with bugs, typhoons etc.

Sown some seeds 07-Aug an inch deep, expecting it take a week or two for these to germinate. Hopefully be able to make some babyfood from these.
Not really grown much leafy greens yet, spinach is easy and can be grown any time of the year. First seeds got sown 06-Aug.
I really like the taste of mitsuba. It makes a good addition to soups as well as salads. It is similar in appearance and taste to flat leaf parsley but with a fresh celery flavour. I’ve just transplanted a couple of plants to a patch with a little shade.
I’m giving a common variety of maize a trial run. Four seedlings were transplanted 45cm apart and the end of April in a sunny part of the plot.
I thought this would make a nice addition to the Thyme, Rosemary & Basil.
Same as the Anchusa, it rained very heavy after transplanting. Shame as I really like Basil.
Fortunately the couple who sold me the first plant gave me a dozen plants towards the end of the season.
Trying again, Mar-07.
I would like to think I am going to use this in the future. In addition to many medicinal properties it makes a good tea. Planted end of March 07.
