First sweetcorn

Filed under: garden — adekun @ 8:06 pm

We were spared the typhoon, although it was another gloomy and wet day. After dinner, I popped out to the garden to check the corn and ended up taking a few cobs. The test of a few raw kernels was promising, with a bit of luck they will be as sweet for tomorrow lunchtime.

  1. Well done on successfully growing sweetcorn. I have not managed to grow it yet nor harvest my own sweetcorn. I hope you enjoy it.

  2. We only just had it but still sweet. A couple tasted of garlic. Could be from when they were in the garden or kept in the kitchen.
There are some spindly cobs left, I’m unsure if that’s our lot.
